About
Our Mission:
Â
Building Opportunities stands for building relationships and providing quality child care. Our mission is to create meaningful opportunities for everyone who is part of our community. We're committed to helping providers become reflective, lifelong learners, continually growing as they create and maintain a safe, stimulating environment for children. We want every child to have the opportunity to think, explore, learn, and build strong, meaningful relationships within these nurturing environments. We also strive to create opportunities for parents to partner with providers, building trusting relationships not only with their child's provider but with Building Opportunities staff as well.

Our program nurtures curiosity and imagination through a child-led, emergent curriculum. Learning experiences are shaped by children’s interests, questions, and discoveries, making each day meaningful and engaging. Our approach is grounded in
How Does Learning Happen? (HDLH, 2014), Ontario’s pedagogy for early years.
This is the space to highlight your most significant accomplishments to demonstrate your capabilities. Focus on measurable results and outcomes that showcase your impact.
We know every family is different. That's why we offer a two-week probationary period for all new enrollments. This trial gives parents time to confirm the child care environment truly fits their family's needs, values, and routine — with no long-term commitment required upfront.

In Our Programs You Will See:

Every Child Is Capable and Full of Potential
Our licensed child care providers view every child as competent, capable, curious, and rich in potential. Guided by this belief, providers create individualized weekly learning plans that build positive, engaging environments rooted in each child's unique development and interests. Every program is designed to be inclusive of all children, including those with individualized learning plans (IEPs), ensuring every child has the support they need to thrive.
Parents are encouraged to meet with providers to create individualized plans, fostering strong engagement and ongoing communication about their child's program. Every day at pick-up and drop-off, providers communicate directly with parents about how their child is doing, ensuring consistent, transparent updates. Home Visitors also conduct regular parent phone calls and follow up with providers to ensure children receive appropriate care, supporting positive, responsive interactions among children, parents, child care providers, and staff.
Building Opportunities staff and providers work closely with local community partners, including mental health organizations and social services, to help observe and develop individualized programs and connect families with resources such as Big Brother programs, supporting children, their families, and staff alike. Providers, Building Opportunities staff, and all individuals who interact with children are committed to ongoing professional learning, collaborating with community partners and attending educational workshops to strengthen their skills. Providers and Home Visitors complete a yearly professional learning form to ensure full compliance with our Training and Development Policy.
Our programs are designed to promote the health, safety, nutrition, and well-being of every child. Children in Building Opportunities' care are fed in accordance with Canada's Food Guide, ensuring balanced, nutritious meals, and are encouraged to participate in monthly food experiences that build healthy habits and food exploration. Weekly menus reflect exactly what children are served each day and are posted in a visible location for parents to easily review.
